Josh Hillis, fellow RKC Certified Instructor and recognized fat loss expert, has really outdone himself with System Six. Seriously people. Seven years in the making, and drawn from his extensive experience in the personal training field, Hillis lays out the plan to get it done. I am going to be honest with you, I didn't want to like this program as much as I did - I hear the words "fat loss" and "weight loss" and get this attitude going (surprised to hear that from lean lil me eh?) that its just going to be another stop on the "Jenny Craig Tour" as another one of my fit pro friends likes to say. In other words, yet another temporary "solution" that gets people to lose the same 5-10lbs they've been losing and regaining year after year. I am happy to report that this is NOT the case with Hillis's System Six. And the good news is, we're not talking about hours and hours of workouts or starvation diets. Actually, I know for a fact that it WON'T KILL YOU, as a lot of these workouts are similar to what I do at home with basic kettlebell techniques and bodyweight exercises (there are provisions for all fitness levels too - don't be scared) - and you won't find yourself running to find a "chuck bucket" if you know what I mean... Well, Josh puts it best in his own words:
"We’ve been conditioned by The Biggest Loser and P90X to believe that fat loss workouts have to be really hard. In fact, we desperately want to believe that hard fat loss workouts are the answer... so we don’t have to go to work on our food."
- Josh Hillis, System Six Easy Fat Loss
Food, huh? UH OH, you're worrying that Mr. Hillis is going to tell you what to eat! Water as a snack? NO WAY. Here's the fun part - he doesn't dictate your meals... BUT he tells you how to be strategic with whatever proven plan you choose - Primal, Paleo, Zone, whatever - he has a whole list of good plans to choose from - and shows you a strategy on how to think about your eating and keeping yourself accountable. Not a crash diet, but a way to retrain yourself to eat in a sustainable, lean way you can do for as long as you wish. Halfway through his quick start guide I was about to call my spooky friend and have him check my kitchen for hidden cameras because... a lot of this strategy was eerily familiar here at GiryaGirl HQ- and I know how well it has worked for me.
The workouts are basic, do-able and solid. And as much as I hate cardio, I approve of the System Six cardio plans - the small group may find that they're doing a few of them from time time. Also included: Workout Log pages, Food Plan Grid pages, handy kettlebell buying guides, and how to cycle a few other popular workout plans if you wish.
Let me know if you try it - a genuine effort over a reasonable time period with the System Six plan will absolutely result in some very rewarding changes to your health, physique, and lifestyle.
